Homecoming Declaration

France
As a representation of the leadership of the church of France we humble ourselves and repent to French Canadians for the historic abandonment and rejection of New France that came at the hands of our forefathers.

We declare that today is a new day and that we choose to walk as fathers with our sons, French Canadians, and that we will accept no division or separation between us.

We say to French Canada, you belong to our family. You are the "crème de la crème" of France and we love you.

We commit to stand with the Canadian church to see the fulfillment of the dreams of our ancestors realized in this nation. We declare, as Frontenac did, "I shall esteem myself happy in consecrating all my efforts, and if need be, my life itself, to extending the Empire of Jesus Christ throughout all this land."

The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory;
you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow.
You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD's hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate.
But you will be called Hephzibah (my delight is in her), and your land Beulah (married);
for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married.
As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you. Isaiah 62:2-5

French Canada
As a representation of the leadership of the church of French Canada, we say to France that we release you from any guilt of abandonment and choose to walk as sons with you, embracing you fully as fathers.

We recognize God's hand in our history, and like Joseph we declare that God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." (Genesis 50:20)

We recognize that the rich spiritual inheritance that is the foundation of our nation finds its roots, in part, in France.

We commit to stand as the Canadian church with France to see the fulfillment of the dreams of our ancestors realized in our nation. We declare, as Frontenac did, "I shall esteem myself happy in consecrating all my efforts, and if need be, my life itself, to extending the Empire of Jesus Christ throughout all this land."

English
As a representation of the leadership of the church of English Canada, we humbly acknowledge that French spiritual fathers were sent here to Canada, by God, to lay a spiritual foundation for this nation.

We recognize that today, French Canadians are keepers of God's original promises for this nation's spiritual destiny.

We commit to stand as the Canadian church with France to see the fulfillment of the dreams of the French founders realized in our nation. We declare, as Frontenac did, "I shall esteem myself happy in consecrating all my efforts, and if need be, my life itself, to extending the Empire of Jesus Christ throughout all this land."
