One Heart
For
over 10 years, the church in Canada has been on a journey with the Lord to
remove stones of offense that healing and reconciliation may come and the church
in Canada can be prepared as a dwelling place for the glory of the Lord.
The
One Heart gathering represented a significant milestone in this journey. At
One Heart, representatives of church leadership from both English and French
Canada covenanted to walk in relationship of love, honour and respect,
fulfilling the original vision of our forefathers for a nation founded on a
“holy matrimony”. Hundreds of First Peoples were at One Heart as honoured
witnesses to guard and protect this “marriage”. However the morning before the
French- English covenant was to take place, the Lord took over
the gathering and to the amazement of
all present, reconciled and covenanted together the First Nations,
Métis and Inuit.
This gathering is a climax, a convergence of a 10-year
journey that we have walked in.

French and English Canada...this
marriage [covenant] will become the foundation of what God is going to
establish in this nation... And this foundation will become the healing
place for the First Peoples. James Arreak, Inuit leader
