This call has been discerned as an urgent prophetic word by many spiritual leaders from across Canada. – David Demian

We Will Never Bow

A National Call to Consecration

June 12-22, 2005

... and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up?  Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?"

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter.  If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." Daniel 3:14-18

There is a new determination that the Lord is about to release to the church of Canada.

To be a church who looks the enemy in the eye and says “Enough is enough!  Our God will deliver us.  But even if He does not, we will live in faith and die in faith but we are never going to bow!”

A church who will possess the promises and lead an entire nation to restore back a holy matrimonial covenant.

The Holy Matrimony

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." This is a profound mystery - but I am talking about Christ and the church.  (Ephesians 5:31-32)

A covenant of holy matrimony lies at the very foundation of the church:  Jesus our Bridegroom, by His own blood, purchased the church that we might be to Him a pure Bride “without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” (Ephesians 5:27) This is a great mystery that God has longed for generations to reveal in a greater measure.

But we, the church, have not been faithful to our covenant with the Lord.  We have allowed the things of this world to lead us astray from our “sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3)  We have given ourselves to other gods (mammon, immorality, greed).  In doing so, as a corporate church body, we have defiled our holy matrimonial covenant with the Lord.  And we have opened the door in the spirit realm that now we see the covenant of holy matrimony being challenged and defiled in the natural by the government of our nation.

Possessing the Promises

There is also another holy matrimony that has been defiled in Canada.  God gave us a vision years ago of two interlocking wedding rings and the words “I do”.  And He told us this was His desire for French and English Canada.  A desire that He placed, even in the hearts of the Fathers of Confederation, who described our nation’s very founding as “holy matrimony”.  And in His wisdom, God has determined that this summer, through the church of Canada, He will prophetically restore a holy matrimony in Canada, between French and English.  And this covenant will be a seed that the prayer of Jesus in John 17 might be fulfilled: may they be one even as I and the Father are one.  This corporate unity is God’s secret strategy to release to the church the authority to address principalities and powers and decree the word of the Lord to our nation and government.  In this way, the fear of the Lord and God’s righteous standards can once again be established in our land.

A Call To Consecrate

Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. (2 Corinthians 7:1)

A call is going out in the spirit to the body of Christ in Canada to prepare ourselves for the holy matrimony that Lord is about to birth and the new level of authority He is about to release.  It is a call to judge ourselves (individually and corporately as a church) in the fear of the Lord and to consecrate ourselves, as holy and pure vessels for His use.

But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. Now God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel, but the official told Daniel, "I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you."

Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, "Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see." So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.  (Daniel 1:8-14)

The number 10 in the Bible represents order, restoration and government.  And as Daniel and his companions chose to consecrate themselves for 10 days, God released His supernatural power

At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. (Daniel 1:15)

But there is more.

“In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom. (Daniel 1:20)

Many years ago, the Lord spoke to us that the day would come when the government would look to the church for wisdom and counsel, but the church was not yet ready.  But now the time has come.

The Call

As leaders from across the nation we are calling the whole body of Christ in Canada to a 10- day fast of consecration, beginning at the start of the Jewish Feast of Shavuot, sundown June 12th and continuing until sundown  June 22nd.  The feast of Shavu’ot celebrates the first giving of the law to Moses and we believe it will signify the beginning of the restoration of a divine order in our nation.

Every day we will be posting a focus “word for the day” on our website, with prayers and declarations that we can make corporately over ourselves and our nation.  We will also send these words by email, so they can be forwarded to anyone you know who has the same heart to stand for the Lord’s purposes at this time.

As we, a remnant of the body of Christ in Canada, choose, like Daniel, to consecrate ourselves and restore back the purity of our covenant with the Lord, let us believe that God will release supernatural manifestations of His power to create a shift in our nation like we have never seen before.

The time has come for God Himself to arise and for the holy matrimonial covenants on every level to be restored in our nation.

And the time has come for His name to be feared and honoured and adored in Canada!
