Day 10 - June 22 Circumcised
Hearts
At that
time the LORD said to Joshua, "Make flint knives and circumcise the
Israelites again… And after the whole nation had been circumcised, they
remained where they were in camp until they were healed. Then the LORD said
to Joshua, "Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Joshua
5:2;8-9
Before the Lord could release the children of
Israel to possess their promised inheritance, He renewed His covenant of
circumcision with them. His purpose was to separate them from everything
that had come upon them through their years in Egypt and the time of desert
wandering. They would enter the Promised Land and everything would be made
new.
This is the Lord’s heart for us today. We are
on the verge of entering into a new spiritual season in our nation and God
wants to roll away the reproach of years. The Spirit of God wants to
sovereignly cleanse and release us from the memories of past wandering and
pain and bring us to a new land: the land of “behold
all things are new!”
"Forget the
former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now
it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and
streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19
As we complete this consecration fast God
desires to roll off of us the shame of the past through a circumcision, not
done by human hands but by Christ (Colossians
2:11) This will be “a
circumcision of the heart, by the
Spirit, not by the written code. (Romans 2:29).
God’s desire is that we would enter this new
season with whole hearts full of courage to face any enemy that
would want to keep us from our inheritance.
Today let us lay our hearts bear before the
Lord that He might circumcise them. May He brand us with a holy passion for
Him and His name that along with all the saints we might cry
forgetting
what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the
goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ
Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14
Prayer Focus
and Practical Actions
-
As we
ask the Lord to circumcise us, let us ask Him also to roll away the
reproach (occasions of blame, discredit, or disgrace) from our lives.
Let us believe that even as He circumcises us, He is able to heal all
the wounds of the past that we may run forward unhindered.
-
Let us
pray that God will circumcise afresh the hearts of the body of Christ
(in all denominations and regions) in Canada that we may enter into the
Promised Land together as one nation.
