Day 10 -
Wednesday June 22 THY KINGDOM COME THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN! "Pray in this way for all kings and all others who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord. This is good and pleases God our Savior, for He longs for all to be saved and to understand this truth. (Living Bible)
Right now there are some decisions being made in the government of Canada that are very important. Some of them are so HUGE that they are like GIANTS in the land. So what can you do? Read these thoughts that Charis wrote.
Scripture: 1 Sam. 17: 20-51
vs.33-51 (Paraphrased) "Don't be ridiculous! Saul replied. "How can a kid like you fight with a man like him?" You are only a boy and he has been in the army SINCE he was a boy!" ........David answered, " The Lord who saved me from the claws and teeth of the lion and the bear will save me from this Philistine!"......David said to Goliath..."You come to me with a sword and spear, but I come to you in the name of the Lord , of the armies of Heaven and Israel the very God whom you have defiled...... Today the Lord will conquer you and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel" .... So David conquered the Philistine giant with a sling and a stone...(Living Bible)
I read about David and Goliath in quiet time. I asked the Lord what He wanted to teach me from what I read. I was reminded of a video. It was named Veggie tales. In the video I learned that little people can do big things too. Even though I'm little, I can do big things, if it is what God wants. Charis (6) Calgary, Alberta
I received another e-mail that went along with these thoughts. She wrote, "I believe that God is going to raise up some of the kids in Canada to be "Giant-slayers". What do you think she means? What about the troubles in Canada that seem like GOLIATHS in our country? Can we as Christian kids speak out and say " No to the laws that go against what God says is right, No to the violence, No to the prejudice, No to the cheating, lying, hurting, drugs.... whatever. Will we stand up and say, "We come in the name of the Lord, we want the whole world to know that there is a God in Canada!" We will believe that God is in control and no matter what the news tells us.
You are exalted Lord above all else We place You in the Highest place above all else Right now where we stand And everywhere we go We place you in the highest place So the world will know You are a mighty warrior Dressed in an amour of light Crushing the deeds of darkness Lead us on in the fight Through the blood of Jesus Victorious we stand We Place you in the highest place above all else in this Land!
So with these thoughts in mind;
ACTIVITY: Find 5 smooth stones. As you pray write down the ones you see as GOLIATHS and wrap them around one of the stones. Keep them as a reminder of what God did for David and the nation of Israel. God is the same God today and can work miracles in Canada and slay the GIANTS here today.
