Vision We are excited to announce that there will be a special kids equipping school during the gathering. Kids will join with their parents in the main gathering for worship and then be released to learn about the 10-year journey that we are celebrating this summer. Through various art forms, our children will creatively experience the journey of the Stones of Remembrance and discover that each "story stone" along the way was a stepping stone to the next plan of God. Each session will include a telling of the story stone by an adult who experienced that part of the journey as well as celebrating and living the story through the analogy of living stones.
The program will be under the direction of Dona Franklin and Carolin Sadler. Dona is a pastor of a church whose primary mission is to minister to un-churched children. She and her husband Bob have a passion to see children growing in their personal relationship with the Lord and being released to impact their world. She mentors children through her years of experience in dramatic arts and creative teaching expressions. Carolin has overseen numerous kids programs in previous national Watchmen gatherings. She and her husband Doug have been working with King’s Kids (a ministry of Youth With A Mission) for 12 years and has equipped and led kids and teens in intercession and reconciliation ventures all over the world.
Cost There is a cost of $15 per child which will cover small snacks and materials for the four days.
Materials to Bring For each child who will be participating please bring an unlined small note book (to be used as a journal), pencil crayons, pencil, glue stick and small pencil sharpener; as well, bring 12 small stones (no bigger than a quarter) from their neighborhood.
Registration
Please note space in the kids equipping class is limited so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.
Registration is in two parts. First send an email to promisekids@watchmen.org with the title “Kids Equipping School” in the subject line. In the body of the email please indicate the names and ages of all the kids you will be registering.
Secondly, please download the Kids Equipping Registration form located below (word and adobe pdf formats). Complete the form and bring it, along with your payment, to the gathering, Registration for the kids equipping school will be in the foyer of the Ottawa Civic centre beginning at 5:30 P.M. July 22nd.
