We are in a time of flourishing—like the flowers that bring vibrant colour to the fields, so are the sons and daughters of God colouring this world as they carry His glory and splendor. May is the time when flowers flourish in the land, God has helped His faithful remnant to chase out the foxes from the vineyard while the vines brought forth tender buds, and now they are in full bloom. Our beauty comes from God because of His great love and care for us. We are an unperishable flower, who’s colours will never fade and pedals will never drop—we are being made new day by day through His provision of abundant and eternal life through Christ. The desert places are even in bloom—therefore we sing for joy. This is a season of singing!

“Even the wilderness and desert will be glad in those days. The wasteland will rejoice and blossom with spring crocuses. Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon. There the Lord will display his glory, the splendor of our God.” Isaiah 35:1-2

THIS IS US

Peter and Beth Ziemer

Our Featured Global Family

By Kathi Pelton

Our “This Is Us” family of the month is Peter and Beth Ziemer, from British Columbia, Canada. Peter and Beth have walked with the Watchmen for the Nations journey since the very first gathering in Whistler, British Columbia (Canada) in 1994. I have had the honour of walking closely with them since 2002. Let me introduce you to my dear friends…

Peter and Beth grew up in the very town that they currently live in, Prince George. They even attended the same high school, but they were two years apart in grades, so they never met. They both were raised in Christian homes where family and honour were instilled at young ages.

Peter was raised in the Church of Christ where no musical instruments were allowed and the gifts of the Spirit were not taught, but strong family connectivity was always cultivated. He was one of thirteen children in his family. His family worked together at the Pulp and Paper Mill in Prince George. Beth was raised in a Pentecostal Church where musical instruments and the gifts of the Spirit were an important part of her life and church culture. Beth was an accomplished pianist. She was one of four children.

Peter and Beth met at a Christian gathering when she was sixteen and he was eighteen years old. After two years of dating, they were married in March of 1979. Peter continued to work at the local mill and Beth taught piano lessons. Through the years the Lord brought Peter into an awareness of the gifts of the Spirit and into greater freedom. Singing and musical instruments became a big part of their home and family. They raised three children (two sons and a daughter), who are now married and have given them seven grandchildren from ages 9 to 19.

The Ziemer’s met David Demian in 1992 when he was traveling with his spiritual mentor Bob Burch. They were also friends with many of the founding couples of what is now known as the Family Journey but began as The Canadian Journey. They were active throughout the journey in Canada and have remained active as the journey moved into the nations. Peter and Beth have served as intercessors for the dance teams, and artists and have helped answer the emails that come in through our mailing list. They have traveled the nations of the world to stand as witnesses to what God has done through the seed that was planted in Canada.

Peter and Beth also pastor a small church in Prince George called, “The Well.” They also own a Christian bookstore called, “The King’s In Bible Store”, which also hosts the Prince George House of Prayer. They love family and our global family. If you would like to join them in praying for Canada, here are a few prayer points that they shared:

  • Pray for oneness to be established among the different provinces and territories and people groups. Pray for the First People to fully take their place as gatekeepers in Canada.

  • Pray that the body of Christ in Canada would continue to surrender their own agendas to align with the heart of God.

  • Pray for the unity of the generation working and functioning together for the sake of His Kingdom being established throughout the nation of Canada.

  • Pray that renewed hope would arise, and each member of the body would take their place in this time of harvest.

THE PATH

On April 6th, a representation from the global family, met in Aswan, Egypt to come together in unity to pray and discern what the Lord desired of them. There were great sacrifices made by many in order to make this journey. The Lord honoured the sacrifices made and met them in times of high praise and deep reconciliation. They brought water from different nations to pour into the Nile River while declaring, “Yahweh, you made the Nile and it belongs to you, Lord.” When Pharoah said, “I made the Nile and it is mine”, he offended the Lord which brought a curse upon the water and the land. God is now turning that curse into a blessing that will restore the desolate places and make Egypt a blessing to the nations. They concluded this time with a prayer cruise down the Nile to Luxor where three hundred more awaited them from the global family.

In Luxor, a procession of praise and worship was made as we walked to the Luxor Temple, where we crowned Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The meetings were held in the church that two hundred Egyptian children had worshipped in and along with their parents, held a joyful procession of praise back in February. Our Egyptian family honoured all who came and those who came from other nations brought honour to the Egyptian family. The Crowning Gathering in Luxor was a beautiful time of high praise, prophetic declarations, humility, alignment and unity between God and one another. God will say of Egypt, “Egypt, My people.”

Anna Demian compiled highlights from many who attended to share the story of the time in Luxor which can be found in the link below.

THE PORTRAIT

From Our Prophetic Artists

The Creative Art team has been seeking to hear what the Spirit is saying and express it visually.

“THE CROWNING” BY MISUK SONG - KOREA

This beautiful painting was done during the time of “The Crowning” gathering in Luxor. Misuk Song painted this and you can see the transition from the crown of thorns to the golden crown upon the head of the King of Kings.

THE PLANTING

HOPE TO THE HOPELESS

As we move deeper into Springtime, our hearts are moved by the plight of the refugees from Ukraine that have been forced from their homes and nation. As a global family, we want to plant seeds of hope and finances into their lives. The stories we are hearing, both from those who have remained in the nation of Ukraine and those who have fled their homes are heartbreaking. Yet, we are seeing the hand of God work on their behalf as prayers are being lifted and seeds are being sown. If you would like to sow a seed of financial support into this great need through a trustworthy organization, you can sow through the link below. We also want to give you an opportunity to sow into The Crowning Gathering that we had in Egypt. Many have desired to give to this as well.
